Battenfield attends Kansas State University where she is generating genomic selection models to predict end-use quality in the CIMMYT bread wheat breeding program. Battenfield received a Monsanto Beachell-Borlaug International Scholarship in 2012 enabling her to be a shuttle breeding student in the breeding programs of Kansas State and CIMMYT‐Mexico.
